United Racing looks for redemption at Tucson Raceway Park

The ASA Speed Truck Challenge, presented by Go Fast, will return to action this Saturday to take on the challenge on the multi banking oval at Tucson Raceway Park, TRP, for the second time this season. United Racing will be leaving their Las Vegas race shop towards the end of the week to make the long trek to Tucson. Read more

ASA Northwest Tour announces new tire provider

Yakima, WA - ASA Northwest Tour officials announced starting with the July 7 race at Yakima Speedway a new tire will be used to finish out the season. The American Racer tire was chosen as the mid-season replacement for the Goodyear tire. Read more
Riehl Wins ASA Northwest Tour 150 at Stateline

Post Falls, ID (June 24, 2007) – The second time was the charm for the ASA Aero Exhaust Northwest Tour at Stateline Stadium/Speedway. With the first race at the Inland Northwest facility rained out, the make up was a great success for all. The most successful was the Access Road Solutions 150 winner Brandon Riehl (Boring, OR). Riehl lead all 150-laps in front of large crowd. Second place finisher BJ Tidrick (Yakima, WA) started his day as the Winner’s Choice fast qualifier. Kelly Tanner (Auburn, WA) made it to the podium for the first time since 1997 with a close third place finish. Read more

Meridian, ID – Early in the day, Dan Buckley discussed his race strategy with this reporter; it was simple, get out front and go! And that’s just what he did. At the drop of the green for the 35-lap ASA Late Model feature, Buckley grabbed the lead from Dan Lowther and was off and gone until an altercation on lap 16 saw Jentry Pisca spin to the infield and John Nesmith sent to the rear of the pack. Young outguns the ASA Speed Truck competition at Fontana road course

Darren Young pulled a brilliant restart move, coming off of a full course yellow, that helped him win the June 2nd ASA-Go Fast-Speed Truck Challenge race at the California Speedway in Fontana. The Gilbert-Arizona driver, who pilots the #18 United Nissan-Quaker State Chevrolet for United Racing, took the lead for good at the start of lap 13 on the California Speedway’s extremely challenging, multi turn, 1.5 mile road course located inside of the speedway’s infield area. However, the unique aspect of this race was the fact that it was more about time that laps. Read more

Motor change for the NW Tour

Yakima, WA – On Saturday May 26, 2007 Ron Bennett (Series Director) and Jim Mikelson (Race Director) announced starting immediately that a spec-headed motor would be legal for the ASA Northwest Tour events in 2007. Lewis Wins ASA Northwest Tour 125 at Yakima Speedway

The two-time Northwest Tour Champion took the lead on lap one of the Matco Tools 125 presented by TruX Etc. for the ASA Aero Exhaust Northwest Tour premier stock car racers and was not passed all night. ASA AERO EXHAUST NORTHWEST TOUR AT YAKIMA

Yakima, WA – This Saturday night May 26, the ASA Aero Exhaust Northwest Tour continues its season with race #2. Yakima Speedway will host the northwest’s best stock car drivers as they battle for 125-laps on the famed ½-mile oval.
The Matco Tools 125 presented by Trux Etc. will once again test these top notch drivers to the max. With warmer temperatures and a long race, each team will be searching for the fastest setup for their respective late model race cars.
Those expected for this Memorial Day weekend event are current point leader Tom Sweatman (Cosmopolis, WA), Travis Bennett (Ellensburg, WA) winner of the 2007 Apple Cup earlier this season, Jeff Barkshire (Auburn, WA) direct off the NASCAR Grand National Division West Series and Gary Lewis (Bothell, WA) current point leader of the Late Model Challenge Series.
Two icons of northwest racing Garrett Evans (E. Wenatchee, WA) fresh off a win a week ago at Yakima Speedway and Ron Eaton (Spanaway, WA) will try to show members of the ASA NWT on how they got their winning reputations.
Among other drivers expected are Jason Fraser (Snohomish, WA), Brandon Riehl (Boring, OR), Jay Sauls (Puyallup, WA), Kelly Tanner (Auburn, WA) a former Tour Champion, Matt Hall (Spokane, WA) and local racer Erick Hargraves (Yakima, WA).
In addition to the 125-lap feature for the Tour will be two of the speedway’s popular divisions. The Late Models and H&H Furniture Hobby Stocks will be on hand to make this a race night not to miss.
It all starts on Saturday May 26, 2007 with racing getting underway at 7:00 P.M.
