Rainfall washes away NSCS at Willamette

LEBANON, Ore. - It’s not corporeal, but Mother Nature has joined Roger Crockett as a multi-time winner in 2007 as she has washed away her second Northwest Sprint Challenge Series event of the season.

Friday’s event at Willamette Speedway was to be the second of four scheduled visits to the 3/10-mile, high-banked clay oval this season. The NSCS is scheduled to return to Willamette on Wednesday, July 25 for the final Oregon race of Northwest Speed Week and again on Friday, September 8. Crockett, the NSCS points leader out of Medford, won last month’s NSCS main event at Willamette. Read more

Spath hopes to remain in NSCS top ten

CHICO, Calif. - Until Memorial weekend, Tyler Spath was not having the best season competing with the Northwest Sprint Challenge Series.

After a rough weekend at Skagit Speedway, the 19-year Spath sat a disappointing 26th in the point standings after three races. Spath and his family, out of Chico, Calif. were considering pulling off the NSCS tour depending on how things went for them during a three-race swing through western Oregon. Read more

Eventful Oregon weekend moves Vaughn up NSCS standings

SNOHOMISH, Wash. - Robbie Vaughn didn’t have a very fun night at Willamette Speedway on Friday, May 25.

Starting on the front row of the B-Main event, Vaughn got tangled with other cars on the initial start and went for a wild ride, which included getting hit very hard by Seth Hespe. With a destroyed race car, Vaughn and the Jansma Racing team loaded up and returned to the team’s shop in Mount Vernon, Wash. Many speculated the weekend was over for Vaughn, a top candidate for Rookie of the Year honors in the Northwest Sprint Challenge Series. Read more

Crockett scores third NSCS win at the Grove

COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. - The other drivers in the Northwest Sprint Challenge Series, most especially Mitch Olson, are wondering what it will take to stop the No. 7N.

Roger Crockett led all 30 laps of Sunday’s event at Cottage Grove Speedway for his third win in six NSCS events this season. To go with those three victories are two runner-ups and another top-five finish that helped give Crockett a 64-point lead over Olson going into the evening. Read more

Menne holds off Crockett to earn NSCS checkers

WHITE CITY, Ore. - It was a win that was a long time coming for Dan Menne.

Menne, out of Fort Jones, Calif. worked through thick traffic and held off point leader Roger Crockett to take the win in Saturday’s Northwest Sprint Challenge Series event at Southern Oregon Speedway, becoming the fourth different winner so far in the inaugural NSCS season. Read more
