The track your mama warned you about

The new neighbors in our left coast racing area has now officially moved in and we can all meet them this Saturday afternoon when the Death Valley Raceway open its gates to racing fans for the first time ever.  Billed as “the track your mama warned you about”, this brand new one third mile clay oval is located in Nevada’s Amargosa Valley approximately four miles east of the California and Nevada state lines.

The season debut will feature a pit area full of cars and racing divisions highlighted by those thunder making, ground shaking, IMCA Modifieds. There’s also going to be plenty of action from the Super Stock, Mini Stock, Modified Mini, 360 Sprints, Micro Sprint and Classic Coupe divisions.

The new track has already received a ringing endorsement from both race teams and the fans. A post Christmas test and tune session, held on December 29th, turned up 67 teams and over 200 fans watching from the bleachers. A similar test and tune session, on January 26th, turned up equally impressive numbers and clearly indicates that the Death Valley Raceway is already on the fast track to success.

The schedule calls for racing on alternate weekends. February and March events will begin at 1 pm and then switch to 7 pm beginning in April. Ticket prices are $10 for adults, $6 for seniors 55 and over and children 6 to 14. Children six and under will be admitted free. Pit passes are $25 each. Overnight camping is permitted at the raceway but no hooks are available.

For more information dial up the raceway’s official website at www.deathvalleyraceway.homestead.com or call 775-209-5291.
