Plesek Triple Winner in Fevers

September 7, 2007

POST FALLS, IDAHO – Stephen Plesek was the big winner Wednesday night at Stateline Speedway as the driver scored his first ever main event win in the Fever 4 division during week 21 of Wednesday Night Fever.

Plesek, who also won the B dash and heat, led flag to flag in the 30-lap race. Brycen Tarr the A heat winner finished second, fast time setter Colton Garber third. Plesek held off a number of competitors in a 5-lap showdown after multiple spins and a race delay for fluid on the racing surface.

Garber had made a pass on Plesek when the caution flew. Scoring reverted back to the last completed lap, putting Plesek in the lead for the final dash to the checkers.

Les Billings finished fourth followed by last week’s winner Rusty Webb. Hauser Idaho’s Craig O’ Neal won the fast dash. John Vallone continues to hold the lead in the point standings.

Bryan Allen rocketed to the front of the 20-lap main event for the Road Runners to score the victory, nearly a half a lap ahead of his competitors. Allen also won the fast heat. Previous race winners Ryan Potts, Roman Gibson, and Jamie Allen, and Tom Harris rounded out the top five.

Bernie Beard took the lead from Steve Roth to win the 15-lap B Main. Brenden Tarr in his second week of competition won the C Main making him the fifth member of his family to win races at the speedway. Tarr also won the D heat.

Tim Benn, Mary Ann Benn, Darin Meeks, and John Cole won dashes.

Even with a borrowed car due to mechanical problems Dave Hatton gained one point on Russell Syverson in Road Runner championship point standings. Hatton finished sixth in the main event. Syverson rallied to ninth after being involved in on track accidents. Hatton now has a 25-point lead in first with four races remaining.

Darryl Carillio duplicated his performance last week winning the 20-lap main event for the Bump to Pass class. Carillio in the “Crazy Taxi” spun heat winner John Hollingsworth for the win. Bob Willis won his tenth trophy dash of the season.

Racing continues this Saturday with the return of the Northwest Pro 4 Trucks making their final appearance of the season with previous race winner Jason Majors. Also on the track, Late Model 4’s and the ICAR Late Model Racing Series. General admission is $10 for adults; kids under the age of six are free. Events start at 6pm with qualifying.

The wild, wacky, unpredictable action of Wednesday Night Fever continues every Wednesday at 6pm with the cars and superstars of the Road Runners, Fever 4’s, plus the wild and crazy Bump to Pass division. Adults are just $5.75; kids under the age of nine accompanied by adults are free.
