INSSA Returns to SRP for Rent-Rite 100
September 7, 2007
Spokane, WA (Sept. 2007) – The Inland Northwest Super Stock Association (INSSA) makes their final appearance at Spokane Raceway Park (SRP) this Saturday night under the lights at the half mile oval with a little extra incentive. Rent-Rite has upped the ante with a $1,000 bonus to the winner of the 100-lap feature event.
Dave Garber maintains a slim, but comfortable lead over Corey Allard with just two events left on the schedule. It’s not over til it’s over, though, and the competition this season has been as hot as the summer! Third place point’s holder, Jeff Little, suffered an engine failure at INSSA’s last event at State Line Speedway, and won’t be able to defend his position over Andy Brown. Brown, who lost an engine early this season, has been playing catch up since. In four of the last five events, Brown has posted top 5 finishes. Greg McKinley, a rookie in his first year of racing, has been consistent all season and rounds out the top 5.
Spokane’s Shelby Thompson became a first-time INSSA event winner back in June when the late models last visited “the hill.” Kevin Richards dominated that event with Thompson, Christian Roeder (Ephrata) and Erick Hargraves (Yakima) following behind. A tire going down in the finals laps of the event saw Richards drop to a 4th place finish. Thompson and Hargraves will be back to challenge for the $1,000 Rent-Rite bonus. Qualifying starts at 6:00p.m. followed by racing at 7:00pm.
Also on the schedule Saturday night are the Inland Northwest Sprint Car Association (INSCA), Big Sky Late Models and the hobby stocks.
The season championship event for INSSA is scheduled for Saturday, September 22nd at State Line Speedway.
