ARCA West Late Model Challenge Series Heads to Kalispell Montana

June 30, 2007

Graham, WA - Montana Raceway Park in Kalispell, Montana is getting ready to host the ARCA West Q-Racing Late Model Challenge Series on Saturday June 30, 2007. The ¼-mile high banked oval has been dubbed one the most beautiful places to race in the country. When you add the AWLMCS, the high banks and the Rocky Mountains it becomes a mixture for speed and beauty.

The AWLMCS returns to the Flathead Valley’s MRP for the third time in its 8-year history. Last year (2006) a local Late Model racer won his first AWLMCS main. Alex Lessor (Kalispell, MT) won in convincing fashion. The difference this season is the AWLMCS has a few new drivers added to the Northwest’s best. Former 2-time NASCAR champion and current point leader Gary Lewis (Bothell, WA), 4-time NASCAR champion Garrett Evans (E. Wenatchee, WA) and 3-time NASCAR champion Jeff Jefferson (Naches, WA) (2006 Montana 200 winner) have dominated victory circle in 2007.Â
Race #5 of the 10-race AWLMCS season will be a test of local knowledge verses the prowess of the best late model stock car racers in the Northwest. Besides the three former NASCAR champions, Brent Harris (Wenatchee, WA), Rick Thompson (Prosser, WA), Erick Hargraves (Yakima, WA), Christian Roeder (Ephrata, WA) (2004 Montana 200 winner) and Wes Rhodes (Yelm, WA) all individual champions at their local tracks over the years are expected to make the trek into the mountain time zone.

Besides Lessor local aces Cory Wolfe (Ronan, MT), Bodie Morton (Kalispell, MT), Mike Keogh (Missoula, MT), Micah Sampson (Kalispell, MT) and Mark Owens (Kalispell, MT) are a few of those expected to attempt to show the visitors how it is done on the high banked oval.

On Saturday June 30, 2007 Bud Light, Glacier Toyota and BEE Broadcasting present the Firecracker USA, ARCA West Late Model Challenge Series 125. Included with the 125-laps for the traveling series the local Coors Light Flathead Legends, Flathead Beacon Bombers and Farmers Insurance Bandoleros will each have a main event. Along with the day long 2nd Annual Show & Shine Car Show, MRP is the place to be on a major highlight of their 2007 race season.
