Northwest Pro-4 Alliance Kicks Off 2007 Season at South Sound Speedway

Boise, Idaho — The Northwest Pro-4 Alliance will kick-off the much anticipated 2007 Tri-Track Showdown on May 26th and 27th at South Sound Speedway, in Tenino, Washington. The “Callander and Associates 100,” presented by Bill Isom and Northwest Connecting Rod, will draw the best four-cylinder late model drivers in the western United States to one of the fastest race tracks in Washington.

Orange Show Speedway places two Super Late Model drivers on probation
SAN BERNARDINO – Rickey McCray and Tony Barnes, two drivers in the Hype Manufacturing Super Late Model division at Orange Show Speedway, have been placed on probation for an incident in the pit area on Saturday, May19.

Barnes, 41, who drives the No. 6 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, and McCray, 28, who drives the No. 98 Chevrolet, both have been placed on probation for three months, beginning May 19, for vio latingrule6-1.3.FONTFONTP

The rule, part of the section governing Conduct at Events, states that Orange Show Speedway “will not tolerate profanity, discourteous gestures or behavior deemed detrimental to the betterment of the sport,” and includes a prescribed list of penalties ranging from a fine to a lifetime suspension. In this case, however, no fines or suspensions were levied.

Barnes and McCray will be on probation through Aug. 19, a span of time that includes six Super Late Model races. Read more

Orange Show Speedway makes minor schedule changes

SAN BERNARDINO – Orange Show Speedway has made several minor changes to its schedule for the balance of the 2007 racing season. The changes include date switches for a pair of ASA Stock Pony races and the addition of several events for the Mini StocKars. Read more

Lopez leads Washington drivers with first win in Eureka BCRA clash

EUREKA, Calif. - Brea Lopez was talking about it just a few hours before the main event. In her third full season racing midget cars she had yet to win a feature race and it was starting to get to her.

Worry no more. Later on Saturday night, the barely five-foot tall 18-year-old from Vader, Wash. charged forward from her 12th starting position to win the Bay Cities Racing Association event at Redwood Acres Raceway. Read more

Las Vegas, NV – Jace “the Ace” Meier nearly beat teammate Tim Huddleston Saturday evening at the Automobile Club of Southern California Late Model series 40-lap main event at Irwindale.  Meier had qualified 5th, but started on pole, and ran neck-to-neck with Huddleston and Staudinger the entire race. Huddleston had a 10-car length lead with six laps to go when Meier started closing in and finished right on his rear bumper.  Read more

POST FALLS, IDAHO – Tim Sawyer went from the rear of the pack to the front to pick up the win for the Northwest Modifieds second stop of the season at Stateline Speedway Saturday night.

Sawyer, who set fast time for the class, started on the fourth row and worked his way towards the front chasing dash and heat winner Frank Volz Jr. Both drivers were in the hunt for pole sitter and race leader Randy Lerch at midway during the race. Read more

Rookie wins Super Late Model event at Orange Show Speedway

SAN BERNARDINO – Rookie Travis Stockman got his first main event win Saturday night (May 19), holding off a quartet of talented veterans in the final stages of the Hype Manufacturing Super Late Model race at Orange Show Speedway.

Stockman, 20, started on the pole for the 40-lap race and never relinquished the lead despite almost constant pressure from points leader Rick Chavez and fast qualifier Charles Price. The Chevrolet of Price was gone after 15 laps of the quarter-mile oval, however, due to a malfunctioning transmission. But his place in the pursuit was taken by Frankie Gould and defending class champion Glen Cummings and 2005 champion John Manke. Read more
