High Desert Roadrunners Car Club ready to show
March 26, 2007

For many years now the membership of the High Desert Roadrunners Car Club have dedicated themselves to the restoration and perservation of classic vehicles. It takes a lot of hard work, as well as a significant expense, to restore these vehicles but to these club members it’s an act of love. The good news for all classic car lovers is the fact that the members of this car club are more than willing to share their automotive works of art with the general public and will be doing so again, March 31st, on Balsam Street in downtown Ridgecrest-California.
That’s when the High Desert Roadrunners will be hosting their 12th annual April Fools Car Show. This annual event draws huge crowds of fans who will gladly spend a Saturday admiring the sheer beauty of the classic cars, trucks and motorcycles. The club members are only too happy to spend time with the car fans discussing the history of the vehicles that are so immacuately restored.
There’s also another huge aspect to attending one of their shows: it’s a personal trip down memory lane. All throughout the day you’ll overhear comments like “my parents had a car just like this when I was a kid” or “I drove one of these when I was in high school.”
The show and shine portion of the day will be held from 10 am to 3 pm. That’s when judges will look at each vehicle, from a wide variety of categories, and decide who the big winners are. All through the day there will be food and drink booths, vendors displaying a wide variety of wares including event T shirts, DJ music and all kinds of special contests featuring special prizes. Chief among the prizes is an engine and transmission sponsored by Sierra Auto Recycling, Rodswest, J&J Machine and Advanced Transmission.
A no host ice breaker, and advanced registration will be held on Friday, March 30th, from 6 to 9 pm at All American Bar B Que located at 1400 North Norma Street. For more information call 760 375 4230 or 760 375 7339. If you’ve never seen a classic car show presented by the High Desert Roadrunners then treat yourself to their annual April Fools show and enjoy the trip down memory lane.
