PORTLAND, Oregon –  Good things happen when years of training meet great opportunity, just ask twenty-four year old Scottie Jenkins of Portland, Oregon.  A karting champion through his teen years, Jenkins was a podium regular on the open-wheel Star Mazda Series from 2000 to 2004, has been awarded the SCCA Oregon Region Professional Driver of the Year title three times, and has broken track records at a multitude of speedways across North America, including Road Atlanta, Sebring and Sonoma.  Seasoned and eager to compete at the next level, Scottie now makes the leap to late-model stock car racing in the Whelen All-American NASCAR Series at Irwindale Speedway in California.

Founded in 1982, the ever-evolving NASCAR regional series was the starting point for racing legends such as Greg Biffle, Clint Bowyer, Jeff Burton, Kurt and Kyle Busch, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Carl Edwards, Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick, Travis Kvapil, Bobby Labonte, Jamie McMurray, Scott Riggs, Elliott Sadler and Brian Vickers.

Jenkins, sponsored by Environmental Fibers International, Inc. and A.G.G. Enterprises, is one of only three drivers selected by High Point Racing of Agoura Hills, California to drive for the 2007 season.  And he couldn’t be more thrilled, “I’m honored to be given this opportunity to compete at the NASCAR regional level, and can’t thank E.F.I. and A.G.G. enough for their support and confidence in my abilities.  I’ve been working toward this for a long time, and look forward to giving the series my absolute best.”

An environmentally-conscious racer and businessman, Scottie Jenkins is the Plant Manager for Environmental Fibers International, Inc., a family-owned and operated recycling company located in Portland, Oregon.  E.F.I. collects, processes and brokers corrugated cardboard, office paper, newspaper & magazine paper, plastic film and other materials for resale and reuse at a global level.
