February 22, 2007
Officials at Stateline Stadium/Speedway in Post Falls, Idaho have released a completed schedule for the upcoming motorsports season at the quarter-mile asphalt oval. Over 56 events spanning April to October will make up the 17th year of operation under the promotion of brothers Joe & Walt Doellefeld. Events will play host to over 450 drivers in nearly 20 different divisions with 1500-plus participants.
Starting two weeks later than it has in previous years to accommodate the change of climate in late March and early April the season will commence Saturday, April 7 with the Racer’s Jamboree held for the first time on a Saturday. The season will run continuous with weekly shows and special events until the Wednesday Night Fever finale October 3.
“Were very pleased with the lineup of events we have for fans and racers this year,” said Stateline Stadium/Speedway Promoter, Joe Doellefeld. “With Wednesday Night Fever, unique special events, and the variety of cars and talent of drivers at the Saturday night shows, there’s something every fan will enjoy.”
Wednesday Night Fever anchors 25 midweek shows and a Friday night in 2007. Doellefled said the pre season participation of drivers and interested racers should make the Wednesday night spectacle more thrilling than ever.
Thirty weekend races are also scheduled with Saturday night’s hosting Hobby Cars, a renewing Street Stock division, Early Stocks and the return of Late Model 4 cars.
Doellefeld said that the support of regional touring and traveling series would benefit fans with an assortment of entertainment throughout the summer.
Open wheel racing will be featured more in 2007 with an expanded eight date Inland Northwest Winged Sprint appearance, WMRA Midget race May 5 and Vintage Open wheel show in April. Doellefeld cites a renewed interest by fans and drivers for the increase in shows.
The Northwest Modifieds will race five times at Stateline with the 100-lap Gary Miller Memorial race July 14. The Inland Northwest Super Stock Series will make six runs part of their fourth season, including the grand final race September 22.
Other fan favorite divisions will also return including the Northwest Pro 4 Trucks at four events, Outlaw Compacts at three and the Foreign Stock Car Racers at two events including the 2nd Annual Northwest Pro 4 Nationals.
Outlaw Street Stocks are featured at two events, June 30 and August 11. Seven Inland Northwest based ICAR Racing Series races, four Northwest Legends events including June’s Speedweek stop are also on the calendar.
Five mammoth special events will take place starting in the spring, with the largest drifting exhibition ever held in Eastern Washington and North Idaho May 6 when the International Drift Championship rolls into town.
Stateline Speedway will present its annual Demolition Derby and Fireworks Extravaganza Tuesday, July 3 with the areas largest Demolition Derby and pyrotechnics display.
Saturday June 9 and August 25, will mark the historic return of the American Speed Association Northwest Tour to Stateline Speedway for two events after a 20-year absence.
The 2007 Idaho 200 three-day fiesta of speed will take place August 3-5 with over $35,000 in cash and winnings up for grabs for the Pacific’s top stock car racing teams and drivers. The event will also include the only appearance of the year by the Late Model Challenge Series Saturday night during the weekend.
“2007 looks to be a great year. We’re excited about it and look forward to bringing an amazing experience to both fans and racers this summer,” Doellefeld added.
