Indiana Promoter in hot water
December 27, 2006
A few weeks back we posted a press release from organizers representing the Mason-Dixon Dixieland Challenge II that took place inside DeVos Place in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Gerry Olson, a Bark River native, organized the event and resides in Terre Haute, Ind. Olson, is at the center of controversy after checks written he wrote to drivers and the ASA Late Model Series, at over $20,000, bounced.
In an interview with a local television station, Olsen said he wants to pay the drivers but doesn’t know how or when.
Richard MacKeigan, the management company that oversees DeVos Place, said gross ticket revenues were $76,000. MacKeigan also said Olson owes DeVos Place about $12,000, and said other costs could push the amount higher.
According to reports, this is not the first time Olson has been in the legal pits.
