Michigan indoor action ready to go

MASON DIXON DIXIELAND CHALLENGE 2 - DeVOS PLACE GRAND RAPIDS, MI

DeVos Place will play host to record entries for the Mason Dixon Dixieland Challenge 2. A record 168-pre entries competing in 5 different divisions include UMP Dirt Models, ASA Late Models Stock Cars, Asphalt Super Late Models, UMP Modifieds, Run  Watcha Brung and Sportsman Stock Cars.

ASA Late Model entries include perennial Berlin Champion, Brain Cambell, and former ASA Champion Butch Miller.

The ASA Late Models will compete in two complete shows Saturday night Dec. 16th and Sunday afternoon Dec. 17th.  Sat night’s headliner will be a 50-lap feature and Sunday’s event will also be a 50-lap feature.

The UMP Dirt Models are lead by the “Million Dollar Man” Ohio’s Donnie Moran, Wisconsin’s Dan Schlepier and Michigan’s Pinconning “Bullet” Jeep Van Wormer.

The UMP Dirt Models compete in two complete shows Saturday night Dec. 16th with a 30 lap feature event and Sunday afternoon December 17th “The Monsters of Dirt Late Model Racing” will compete in a fifty lap feature event. 

A new class has been added to the Mason Dixon Dixieland Challenge 2.  “The Run Watcha Brung” Class will feature a wide open (outlaw style) of race cars that are allowed to have any aero dynamic devises.  This unique division will be headed by world record holder Terry Sroufe and Mt. Pleasant’s  David Hilinker.  This unique event will debut Friday night December 15th featuring a 25 lap main event.

Super asphalt late model drivers Tim DeVos and Kalamazoo 2006 champion Terry Senneker lead a star-studded field competing in a 25-lap feature event Friday night Dec. 15th.

UMP Dirt Modified will be featured December 15th, 16th and 17th.  Sportsman Cars will compete Friday December 15th and Saturday night Dec.16th.

Friday night December 15th the gates will open at 5pm with racing getting under way at 7:15pm.  Saturday December 16th the gates will open at 5pm with racing at 7:15pm.
Sunday December 17th the gates will open at noon with racing to begin at 1:30pm.
