Perris, CA - The 4th Annual Legends of Ascot Event, honoring the many people who participated at J. C. Agajanian’s Ascot Park, from 1957 through 1990, once again set new attendance records this year. The 2006 season was the 11th and the last for the Northern Sprint Tour. It also turned out to be an abbreviated one as seven of the 17 scheduled races were not run – five due to weather. The season may have been short, but it definitely packed quite the punch. From the storylines that developed in the off-season, to the very unexpected death of series Founder and President Fred Brownfield, to the theme of “firsts” that transpired over the duration of the schedule. SALEM, Ore. - Dave Pugsley of Albany, Oregon came out on top Saturday night, winning the midget car main event on the first night of the 2006-2007 indoor night racing season at the Oregon State Fairgrounds. Just over nine months ago inside the same building, Pugsley was involved in wild, wheel banging affair that saw Pugsley have the lead briefly on the last lap, only to lose after contact with eventual winner Tony Berry. Salem Indoor season opens

SALEM, Ore. - Saturday night, the 2006-2007 winter indoor season for dwarf cars, wingless 600cc micro-sprints, and the NOMA midgets will begin at the Oregon State Fairgrounds. This year’s program, co-promoted by Willamette Speedway co-owner Bill Arnold and Cottage Grove Speedway co-owner Bob Leach, comes after last winter’s successful two-show stint that saw spectators take up most of the seats under the cover of the Livestock Pavilion at the Fairgrounds on both January 28 and February 4.
