Thompson kicks off its annual World Series of Speedway Racing

The World Series of Speedway Racing at Thompson Speedway in CT. kicked off Friday night with stocks cars to modifieds lining the pits. NASCAR’s Whelen Modifieds headline the three-day, 14-division, 500-plus race car show that has become a traditional racing event and staple for fall motor heads in New England.

“I came to work today and there already were 600 campers here,” Thompson Speedway’s special advisor, Ben Dodge of Vernon, said Thursday. “And there’s really nothing going on until Friday.”
